Located at Andrew Kenneth Webster Preserve (Valley Falls)
Rated: Easy, quite rocky with some hills
Bring your own black ink and a compass
This is a replacement for the original Hitch Hiker's Hotel originally placed on 8/31/06. It was reported missing a few months ago. So there is a brand new stamp and log book. Same location as the original.
Directions: From rt.84 west take exit 66 turn left off the ramp and left again at the stop sign onto Tunnel Rd. Take the 2nd left onto Valley Falls Rd. Proceed approx. 1/2 mile. There is a pull over for 2 cars on the right side of the road a few hundred feet before the entrance to Valley Falls. Look for a sign hanging from a tree that reads "Andrew Kenneth Webster Preserve"
From rt.84 east also take exit 66 turn right off the ramp and left at the stop sign onto Tunnel Rd. then follow above directions.
Once parked take the blue/red blazed trail straight up the hill. Take notice of all the interesting rock formations and trees. After a short walk the red/blue trail splits to the left, stay straight. Pass by a cave like ledge, this trail will soon join up again with red/blue continue on until you reach a mountain stream that feeds out of the side of the hill to the right through a natural made rock tunnel. Turn around and take a few steps and turn onto a trail at 45*. Almost immediatley you'll have rock outcroppings on either side of you. Go to the one to the south east and around to the stream side, hidden behind a stone door is your prize. Remember you can only take the hitch hiker if you have one to leave. When finished return the way you came. Take a few minutes to look around and explore the area.
