On Route 9 in Brookfield is a cemetery with a mix of old and new gravestones. Drive there and enter through the big iron gate. You can park outside or drive in. The "Tomb of Tilly Rice" is easy to find along that road and to the right of it is a grassy road which has wood chips over part of it where it spans a wet area. Walk down this road to the end where you will see a huge stump on the left. Turn left and pass a big pine tree on the right at about 10 or 11 steps. Walk to the next big pine on the right which is closer to the path. Find three rocks stacked together and look behind the middle one for buried treasure. Please rehide this box under leaves and debris.

The stamp depicts the carving on a stone found in ths cemetery. Elisabeth and Ayers Putnam are buried beneath this marker. To find it after replacing the box, face the box. Turn right and walk to the front of the graveyard. There are two very old gray stones that look like they are leaning toward each other. The one to the left is where the image comes from. You'll have to really look, it has become difficult to read over the years.

Please enjoy the historic stones and respect the graveyard.
