This letterbox is at the end of a great little hike that is perfect for all ages. Take the Mainstreet exit into Payson City. Turn left at 1OO N, and then right at 600 East at the old Peeteetneet school. Travel up this road into the canyon for a few miles. Stay on this road, passing the Maple Dell Boy Scout Camp and other turn offs and cabins, until you come to a sign that says the Grotto. The sign will be off the left hand side of the road at a tight turn. Park there and head up the trail. The hike is short and fun for kids with lots of log bridges and pretty leaves in the fall. Hike to the end to see a great, little grotto.
To find this box, come out of the grotto. Cross the first log bridge, walk about five steps and turn back to face the grotto. To your left, there is a large tree that is so close to the trail it occludes it slightly. There is a pile of rocks that rests against the back of this tree. The box, complete with a hand carved stamp is inside.
