You Scream,I scream!

A Letterbox Adventure

Granbury, Texas
Granbury is a charming city about 30 miles outside the buzzing Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, just far enough outside DFW (southwest of Fort Worth, to be precise) that it retains a small-town feel.

And Granbury is a small-town - under 10,000 population - but a growing one. It's a very pretty place with a distinctive town square full of historic buildings, tons of bed-and-breakfast establishments, and a popular lake as the focal point of much of the city.

The Granbury town square includes numerous historic buildings and plenty of shopping and dining opportunities. Nearby Acton State Historic Site is the smallest state park in Texas - it contains the gravesite of Elizabeth Crockett, wife of Davy Crockett.

Here is the clue:

Go to the town square. Enjoy some ice scream (hence the name of the box) at Rinky Tinks Ice Cream Parlor on the square. Then, set out on foot due South. You should be on Houston Street. Pass Pearl Street. Turn left on West Bluff street. You will see a public parking area where public restrooms are located. West of the restrooms is a raised garden area with a very large tree in the middle. The Letter box is buried at the base of the tree under a rock.
Watch out for ants, remember, we are in Texas. :-)

We hope you enjoy our first letterbox attempt. Please feel free to drop us a postcard and let us know how the box is surviving the weather.

Happy Hunting!

Megan
