Let’s Bug Out!
A Letterbox Adventure

Texas Bugs:
The favorite bug has to be the lightning bug. This little flying lantern doesn’t bite, keeps blinking on and off no matter if free or captured in a Mason jar. During spring and summer months, just after sundown, down in the low places, hours can be spent chasing these blinking beacons.

Once captured, you can observe nature's best from only an inch away. Some of the most serene moments in life can be spent watching the lightning bugs play along a creek bottom.

For more fun with bugs, here is a webquest you can do at home:

Here is the clue:
Go to Granbury Town Square. Drive north on Houston Street to parking area in Shanley Park where the wooden Gazebo is located.
Walk down the hill from the Gazebo toward the water. And over the bridge. Keep walking until the path meets a bike trail. Turn left. Walk past the Rotary Club Wishing Well. Approach the next bridge, but do not cross. Walk down to the picnic table to the left by the water. The box is buried at the base of the large tree on the side of the tree closest to the water.
We hope you enjoy our first letterbox attempt. Please feel free to drop us a postcard and let us know how the box is surviving the weather.

Happy Hunting!
