From Route 2: Take exit 13, then turn onto Route 66 WEST. At the stop light, turn left onto South Main Street, then take your first right onto School Street. The library will be on your left hand side.

Part A:
Find the book Marlborough 1747-1977 by Florence Lord (974.6). Mrs. Lord was a long time resident of Marlborough and an huge asset to our library. She helped make the great library we see today. How long did she live in Marlborough? How many years did she work on growing the library. Take the second number of the first question and the first number of the second and add them together.

Part B:
Then find the smaller of the librarians' desks with the printer on it. There will be a memorial plaque on it in memory of my grandmother, who was a long time resident of Marlborough and an avid reader. Find her first name. Separate out the first four letters. Take the second letter and change it to an A.

Go to the Fiction section and find an author named Lois who's last name begins with those first four letters. When looking at the books this author has written, turn around and walk the number from Part A (not walking over the other book shelves of course!) and look in the drawer of the low lying table for the letterbox!

While at the library, please be sure to say Hi to Eileen, one of the librarians! She was the one who had me come and do a talk about letterboxing for the summer library program!
