****Nov. 29 note: box appears to be missing***
Mira Vista Park (‘see the view’ in Spanish), is a lovely park in a nice neighborhood, referred to as Richmond View.
From I-80 East take exit 16B, turn right onto San Pablo Ave. Take the next left, Barrett Ave. up about 2 blocks to a Y. Stay to the left, which becomes Dimm St. Turn right onto Humboldt, then right at the stop sign onto Mount St. Mira Vista Park is 1/4 mile on your left.
From I-80 West, take exit 17, McBryde Ave. Turn right onto McBryde, then left onto San Pablo Ave. Continue about a mile to Barrett Ave. and turn left. Follow the directions from above.
Go past the lawn area, veering to the right. The trail begins between the little concrete picnic bench and the light pole. The trail runs along a little stream and can be a little muddy in places. It will cross the creek and continue over a green cement stepping stone. Continue up the long steps, then turn left at the next green stepping stone. On you left will be a rockpile and a leaning tree. There’s a little view to the west through the trees from the rockpile, but this is not your final destination. Follow the trail as it veers to the right around another light pole, and you will see a small green bench. Sit on the bench facing west, and look for 2 rocks at 160 degrees, one upright and one lying down. Below them is your treasure!
Please email me to let me know if you found it! Thanks!
