On my birthday it was a beautiful morning and i took a walk on a great trail. i grabbed a trail guide and started reading. i was so engrossed in learning and experiencing i forgot that i was in bear country. i started noticing moose tracks and bear poop on the trail. i then started singing LOUDLY: Happy brownbear to me. Happy brownbear to me. Happy Grizzley BEAARR to me. No bear near me! to the tune of Happy Birthday. After all it was my birthday!
i started spooking myself and looking closely into the forest for any kind of movement or big shapes. i stopped at the bear information sign and heard crashing in the woods. Now i am totally freaked out! All of a sudden a jogger in really short shorts went running by. Whew. No bear! then i figured if there were any bears nearby they would chase him and i was safe. Warning: When in bear/moose country take someone with you and make noise. Bear bells are good.
Clues: Figure out the name of Nature Trail the bear sign is located on. Face the sign and to the immediate right and 6 feet in front of you is a birch tree. Put you right hand on the base of the tree and at your elbow should be what you seek.
