Sail Away on the Pond LbNA #32926

Find Jimmy Nash City Park. Go to Shelterhouse #2. It is the first shelterhouse (not counting the gazebo by the pond) on the right as you enter the park. Parking is available (unless shelterhouse is in use)behind the shelterhouse. Walk toward the pond. At the northeast corner of the pond you will find a trail. Follow it. You will come to a small stream that fills the pond. Carefully cross to the other side of the stream. Go 14 paces. Turn left and continue 20 to 24 paces on a trail leading off to the southeast (away from the pond). (Veer slightly to your left still following a trail) Go 10 (8) paces. Next to leaning tree (about 13 inches in diameter and it is a walnut leaning against a poplar) there is a fallen tree or log. The letterbox is in a hollow log with bark covering hole. It is a small camo pill bottle and contents are damp, but still usable. Please e-mail me especially if you think my directions need editing. Thanks and have fun!
