PLEASE NOTE:
We were told this box is missing as of May, 2011. We'll try to replace when we are back in the area and update the site when we do.

Take Kidston Road in Coldstream all the way until the main entrance of Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park. Look for the trail down to the Twin Bays (close to the parking ticket machine and a wood structure with informational posters about the park). Pass the outhouse and head down the paved trail. Stay left on the paved trail at the map (and gravel spur). As you descend, take a look at the green waters of Jade Bay on your right.

At the bottom of the hill, you’ll see two small outhouses. Take the gravel path to the left which goes between the two outhouses. At the first fork, stay to your right. Enjoy the path through the woods and along the beautiful waters of Juniper Bay.

The path will fork again (with a park map in the middle). Take the path to the left (heading uphill). You’ll soon see a wooden bench built into the hill on the left side of the path. Just after the bench, the path will come to a “T,” with a view of the lake in front of you. Take the path to the right.

A few steps further, before beginning a steep switchback, take a rest on the bench to your left, overlooking the cliffs of Cosen’s Bay. Continue on the path uphill.

Just before you reach the very top, you’ll see a set of concrete stairs (with one wood railing). Look to your right; you’ll see a large evergreen tree with rocks at its base. From the bottom stair, walk about 12 paces down to where the rocks meet the tree. With your back to the trunk, search low among the rocks for the Kal Park’s Treasure!

Once you’ve logged your find, continue up the stairs to find a little piece of heaven above the Lake of Many Colors!

Please email triantisfamily@yahoo.com to let us know if you’ve found this letterbox!

P.S. On your way down, you may enjoy a swim and a picnic on either beach of the twin bays. Take a moment to enjoy the view from the grassy knoll between the beaches. Visit the circular structure to learn about the flora and fauna in the park. If you’re lucky, you’ll see some of the marmots that live in the “village” of rocks around the structure (please don’t feed the marmots!).
