The Quabbin has always been a special place. It holds so many childhood memories of sliding down the sides of the dam on an old cardboard box(not allowed anymore), or just walking some of the many trails. One of the best times was when I had a summer job painting the inside of the Quabbin Tower (it needs it again!). One afternoon we "ran" away from our supervisor to hide in the woods - so this letterbox has special meaning for me!

To find the letterbox:

Find your way to the Quabbin Tower. At the tower, go to the side that faces the water and Mount Liz. Travel across the grass toward the brush. You will need to head slightly to the right of the edge of the shrub area (there's a little area that is tall grass and not shrubs). You will find an area that has a very large piece of flat ledge. Head down towards the woods and slightly to the Right. You will find another flat piece of ledge, although significantly smaller. Stand on this rock and head directly to the shrub edge - walk 13 paces until you are directly in front of a young oak tree. Head to the tree. Standing at the right of the tree, head left about 18 steps until you see a clump of small shart rocks pointing toward the water. The the director of those rocks about 10 paces. Look for a small maple with a medium size rock next to it. Look closely because the rock may be disguised with scrub brush. Look right around this rock and you will find the letterbox - it's plain to see, but try to cover it up as best you can once you find it!

Please let me know the condition of the box if it needs attending to!
