Ladybug letterbox

Hello! This is our first letterbox. We are so excited. We are a family who discovered letterboxing last summer and have just decided to place our first letterbox!

Washington, Missouri was our first choice for letterbox placement. Washington is a wonderful town where I grew up and has a wonderful park system. We’ve hidden several letterboxes in various parks in town.

Clues:

1. Head to the park with a body of water that is named after a large cat that you normally see at a zoo.

2. You can park anywhere, as there is a nice paved trail around the water and it is not very long and has no difficult walking. If you do not want to do a lot of walking, park in the small parking lot near the bridge.

3. There are several shelters around the trail … find the one that is circular in nature, painted white, and has a wooden floor.

4. As you face the steps, look for a brick behind the steps on the right hand side. The item you are looking for is behind the brick.

5. It can be a busy area, so please be discreet and rehide well!

6. PS – there are also lots of ducks and geese here… be sure to bring some bread to feed them!!

7. Enjoy the park!

Driving directions for the out-of-towners:
This park is on the western side of town, north of Highway 100 near the fairgrounds. Heading east or west on Hwy 100, turn north on Clay St. (there is a light… this intersection is just west of the Hwy 100/Hwy A and Hwy 100/High Street intersections, and east of Washington West Elementary School). Go north on Clay St. until it “T’s” into Fifth Street. Turn west (left) on Fifth Street and make an immediate right (north again) onto Grand Avenue (by the Elks Hall). Grand Avenue will take you to the park.
