Colorado will always be home and this box is a tribute to that sentiment. So no matter where I roam, Colorado is home.
But now to the letterbox . . . find Confluence Park in Delta. It is off Hwy 50. Turn on Gunnison River Rd and head to the Recreation Center. Continue on Gunnison River Rd until it reaches a T-intersection with Kellogg St.and turn Left (South). Pass the baseball fields on your left. Park near the bathroom area on your right. (It you get to the skate park on your left, you have gone too far.) Walk across the bridge to the island in Confluence Lake. (You can bring bread to feed the ducks and geese.)
Head in a westerly direction. Near the flags sit down and rest a moment on Bill's bench. Enjoy the view of Grand Mesa in the background.
Next continue on around the lake and rest a moment on Brady's bench.
Then you will head to the gazebo area. When facing west, looking at the gazebo, you will have a Colorado Blue Spruce on your left (South). What better place for this memorial to Colorado than under its boughs just where it meets the junniper bush?
Look under the junniper boughs on the ground in the needles. Please be discreet and rehide this memorial carefully.
Make sure to take the time to find the "Colorado Native" in this same park while you are here. Enjoy and thanks for coming by to visit.
