The Hare It Is box is located in Dighton Rock State Park. We named this box in memory of our first howling beagle, Oscar, who spent his days happily tracking rabbits.
As you drive in to the park towards the parking lot, take notice of the closed brown gates on the right, just before the lot. After you park, make your way back to this gate.
From inside the gate, follow the path about 120 paces until you see an uphill path on the right, across from a puddingstone boulder with two double trunked trees on either side of it. Go up the path on your right.
Just after the large puddingstone outcropping on your left, the path levels off at the top. (DO NOT CONTINUE ON THE NEW PATH UP TO THE RIGHT). Standing at the top, with the rock behind you, you will see a path towards the right at about 80 degrees. Follow this path until you reach a large fallen log on your right. (Hidden in the pines, you can see this fallen log from the top of the rock). At this fallen log, find your compass reading of 15 degrees, looking towards two pine trees, about 15 paces in. Here lies your treasure, behind the pine on the left, under a rock or two. Please take care to cover it nicely when you are done!
