This box was taken a second time not to be replaced. It is sad becasue this was a great resting place for a box I even had several hitch hikers planted here. I hope to plant again somewhere else in the park eventually.
Anyone who has tried to find this box, It was taken, but replaced on 08/10/09
Deering Oaks has long been a place of rest, recreation, relaxation, and a place my daughter Rachael (a.k.a Bookworm) enjoys very much. On this day, We had a picnic and while we were sitting there, we found the perfect place to plant our box.
There is an oak tree that used to have a twin to the right of the stairs leading to the dry end of the wading pool. The twin was taken away at some point and there is a hollow stump that remains. At the right end of the stump as you are facing it, along the outer edge behind sticks, bark and leaves, you will find the box. Please be careful to replace it back safely and try not to disturb any inhabitants that may have moved in. PLease be sure to be discreet when going to this box and replacing it carefully so it won't disappear again. Thanks!
