There is no stamp pad in the box, colored ink markers are recommended.
Copperheads live here so please be careful when looking for the box.

Directions to the box are as follows:

From the West take Route 691 East. Take a right onto the Preston Avenue Exit. At the end of exit take a right and at first light take a left onto East Main Street. Continue on East Main Street until you see the sign for Black Pond.
From the East take Route 66 towards Meriden. Take the East Main Street Meriden Exit. This will be a left side exit. Once on the exit you will need to take a very sharp left directly after the overpass. You will see the sign for Black Pond. Continue down road to parking area.

This box can also be accessed from the other side of the mountain. From route 66 in Middlefield either from the east or west take route 147. As soon as you get onto 147 look on the right for a parking area for the blue trail. Taking this trail will put you in “Our little town territory”. You may want to bring those clues with you. When you get to the top and out under the powerlines pass by the blue trail opening heading into the woods and stay on the powerline road. Follow the directions below where it says follow the power line road uphill and then downhill...

From the parking lot at Black Pond head up the trail until you come to a 3 way fork. Take the blue trail to the left heading north. As you head uphill say hi to “the chimney” and to “black pond”. When you come out to the power lines follow the power line road to the right and start heading uphill and then downhill. You will see a white birch on the right, and a four sister beech just past it. Look behind the beech in a stump for the Eclipse.

From either parking area just backtrack the way you came to get to your car.
