Easy letterbox about 40 minutes round trip with ~60 paces off-trail. Compass suggested although not necessary with a very good sense of direction. Use bug dope.

Road map: http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=42.583027&lon=-71.465486&mag=5
Directions:
(Note: 1 pace = 2 steps)
* From Cold Spring Rd parking, follow trail to the arch bridge (~12 minutes).
* From the bridge, continue N on the railroad bed for 37 paces.
* Go E onto footpath for 30 paces to a 3-trunked tree on path. (The trail is not well used and can be difficult to follow when covered with old leaves. Yellow dots on trees mark the trail although the markers are not visible from the railroad bed.)
* Continue another 25 paces and stop.
* Look 350 deg magnetic, and go 15 paces off trail to the "double" rock.
* Continue on 350 deg for 25 steps to the "tilted steps".
* Head 60 deg for 20 steps to a 4-trunked tree.
* Head 40 deg for 14 steps to a double trunked tree.
* Head 24 deg for 34 steps to stone wall where a fallen tree crosses the wall.
* Treasure is aout 4 feet from base of the tree, under the tree and hidden with sticks.
* After stamping in, follow the stone wall S to rejoin the trail near the brook.
