Colorado will always be home and this box is another tribute to that sentiment. So no matter where I roam, Colorado is home.
But now to the letterbox . . . find Confluence Park in Delta. It is off Hwy 50. Turn on Gunnison River Rd and head towards the Recreation Center. On the right side of the road you will see Ft Uncompahgre Living History Museum. Park in the parking lot close to the bathrooms.
On your right you will read a green sign giving the historical information about Ft Uncompahgre. From this sign turn 180 degrees and walk about 65 steps. You will walk between the bathrooms and the fence.
Turn left (West) into an ampitheater and follow a red gravel path to the 2nd light pole.
Look to the left of this pole for a large red lava rock. To the right of this rock is a "cubby hole" hiding spot for the "Colorado Native".
Make sure to look in this same park for the "Colorado is home!" letterbox.
Thanks and happy hunting.
