Erie Zoo
**THIS BOX IS MISSING! I'LL CARVE THE STAMP AGAIN AND UPDATE THIS PAGE WHEN I HAVE REPLACED THE BOX!**
This letterbox is located just outside the Erie Zoo. For directions to the Erie Zoo, please visit www.eriezoo.org. The address is: 423 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508 (814)864-4091. The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Clues:
This box is placed outside of the zoo grounds. I didn't want to limit the availability by the entrance fee or the zoo hours. However, if you do plan to get this letterbox, the Erie Zoo is a great place to visit. The zoo is not too big and it has nice exhibits that are kid friendly.
Park at the rear entrance. This is the parking lot near the picnic pavilions at Glenwood Park.
Leave the parking area and walk down the path that leads to the playground.
Stop when you get to the red, white, and blue playset.
Leave the path and head toward a tree that is located between the path and the road. It is approximately 22 steps to the tree.
There is a large opening at the base of the tree. The opening faces the road.
Inside you will find a plastic box in a camo bag. There are also a couple of rocks on top to hold the box in place and to discourage animals from dragging it away.
Take it to a nearby picnic table and stamp in!
Please let me know how the box is doing. I love to hear boxing news!
