Driving Directions: Travel east on Route 6 to the intersection with Race Point Road. Turn right on Race Point Road. Stay to the right as you pass Province Lands Road. Follow Race Point Road to the parking lot at its end. From here, walk to the ocean and turn left, follow the beach [about 2 miles] to the lighthouse.

CLUES TO THE LETTERBOX

Standing at the door to the lighthouse, look over the dunes in the direction of the Provincetown Tower. "Dune walk" toward the tower until you reach the highest dune along the lighthouse - tower line of sight. From this location you can see a higher dune on a bearing of 60. Trek over to the tower side of this dune. If you are in the right place, the Provincetown airport runway lights will be at a bearing of 70, the tower will be at a bearing of 120, and the lighthouse will be at a bearing of 300.

Step off 20 paces on a line just to the left of the tower. The Race Point Lighthouse Letterbox lies beneath a collection of stones nestled inside the beach shrubs.

Hike length: 3-5 miles
