If you have a dog that loves to swim or who just wants to run and play, bring him here to the pond where he can spend the day.

Our dog Jake loved this spot, it was one of his favorites. A pond for swimming and a field for running, it has it all.

Directions - Take Route two to Hermon, Maine. From the stop light at the center of town where you’ll find a Baptist church, two stores, an apartment building, monument, and tanning salon, drive west on Route two for 2.2 miles to the Swan Road on the left. (If traveling from the west toward Hermon from Carmel, turn right onto the Swan Road.) Follow the Swan Road for 1.9 miles (You’ll pass the famous Hermon “Mountain” Ski Area on the right) to the Jackson Beach entrance on the left. Follow this bumpy dirt road for about .2 miles until you see a red house before you and two roads to the left. Turn left onto the lower road toward the boat landing and follow it until it ends in at the parking lot. The field will be on the left and the pond on the right. Walk toward the pond, look to your right and you’ll see a park rules sign. Walk to the right of the sign and straight ahead past the three trees to your left. Stop at the third tree and look ahead and to the right where you’ll see a tree with four trunks, a perfect tree for hiding a letterbox. It is here that you will find our memorial and your hidden treasure.

If a dog is accompanying you on this trip, we hope he/she enjoys a refreshing dip and/or nice run, just like our boy, Jake, always did when he visited this special place.

If missing or vandalized please report to us. Thank you.
