This box is a part of the Parade of Books Letterbox Series. The clues lead from box to box. You should check the first box in the series, Lord of the Flies, for general trail information.

One of my favorite books as a child was Striped Ice Cream by Joan M Lexau. It is the story of Becky, whose favorite ice cream was Neopolitan(striped), and whose family starts acting very strange as her birthday approaches. When her birthday finally comes, she finds out that all the strange behavior was actually about her birthday present. The book is now one of my 10-year-old daughter’s favorites and she is the carver of this stamp.

To find the sweet treat, continue down the trail from The Hobbit, or start at Sunset Park in Genesee. You will eventually have to cross a short wooden bridge. Go across the bridge to the last wooden post on the left side. Go around the post and look under the log laying parallel to the bridge, and there you will find your own personal serving of Striped Ice Cream. Stamp up and rehide well! Head back to the main trail for the next box.
