The Hotter’N Hell Hundred is an annual bicycle ride in Wichita Falls, Texas. It is held each year on the 4th or 5th Saturday in August (always 9 days before Labor Day) and includes professional as well as amateur riders. The race was first held in 1982 as part of the Wichita Falls Centennial Celebration, thus the description: one hundred miles in one hundred degree weather, to celebrate the city's 100th anniversary. Approximately 8,000 to 10,000 riders participate each year, making the Hotter'N Hell Hundred the largest sanctioned century bicycle ride in the US.

Clues:
To find the Hotter ‘N Hell letterbox, find the entrance to Lucy Park on Sunset St. just off the Seymour Highway (behind the new Butterfly Conservatory). Drive to the first available parking spot on your left after entering the park. You will see a cement path leading toward the river into the woods just across from the handicap parking spot. Take this path approximately 50 steps and you will come to a T. Go left at the T and follow the concrete path as it meanders along beside the river. You will pass a total of four benches, three bridges, three lampposts and one workout station (just in case you want to check your progress), but this is a short walk through the woods to an open area where you will see one more lamppost, another bridge and a large cottonwood tree. Just before the trail splits, you will see an old suspension footbridge over the river on your right. Cross over the bridge and notice the large brown boulders on your right after stepping off the bridge. Under the shade of the ancient cottonwood tree, you will find the letterbox in an opening facing the sidewalk under the last (3rd) boulder.

Stealth may be required in retrieving and replacing the box as this is a popular site.
