Terrain: fairly flat, grass, then steep to sand & rocks of all sizes
Distance of walk: < 1mile
Elev gain: +/-50'
Wheel chair friendly: no, sorry
Hitchhiker friendly: if small
Before you leave: **** 11/16/07 update ****
I’ve been told that this park is closed during off season.
Getting you there:
Tucker County Park. Take Exit 62 from I-84, go south then East on Cascade Ave, continue to 13th St. Take a Right, stay on this road as it zig-zags along (about 5 miles) until you cross tucker bridge. Look for a fade right on the North side of the bridge, then another right into the park. Park in the day use area.
To the Box:
Take the Camino Al Rio. Keep going to and thru the sandy meadow. Walk to the other side of the supine boulder and rest your backside on it. Please be discreet, this appears to be a popular swimming hole. See a boulder at 125 & up? The box is under it and behind some rocks.
