"Fish Stories" was missing for a while, but it's back on the shelf!
The Coast Community Library, located in the center of town, on Main Street, in the old Gilmore's Point Arena Mercantile Co., is a community treasure. Originally founded by volunteers in 1989 and housed in the social hall of St. Paul's Methodist Church, it's now a branch of the Mendocino County Library, open six days a week and still largely run by volunteers. It would be worth a visit even if it didn't have, on its reference shelf, a special little book called Fish Stories.
Fish Stories (REF 811 FISH) is your letterbox!
Thanks go to Donna Simms of Elma, Washington for providing the box and the idea for this library letterbox. Thanks also to Terra Black of Coast Community Library for placing it in the library's collection. Thanks to the kids of the Summer Library Program (Get a Clue @ Your Library!)for being the first to find it.
