As a child, one of my first songs to learn was Red River Valley. This song always reminds me of long cattle
drives through Texas. Therefore it seemed only fitting that a Texas longhorn should be found in Red River County. This little longhorn sort of strayed from the herd and is now playing around in Bogata at the City of Bogata Thomas Park. So while you are searching for this box, sing or hum along with Red River Valley.

To the Park: From the intersection of 271 and 909 in Bogata, take 909 north and look on your left for the
Thomas Park. It has a bright red, blue, and yellow playground. Pull into the park and park near the
swingset.

To the Box
Walk behind the swingsets and you will see a concrete trail. Take a right on the trail and soon you will go
across a bridge and a little further down, you will see a white building on your left, which are the restrooms. Continue down the trail until you see a large pine tree on your left. Stop at the pine tree and walk for about 9 short person steps toward and past the pine tree to the corner of a barb wire fence. On your right near the corner of the fence are two hard wood trees that are close together. The longhorn is behind those trees under the usual stuff.
