Date Placed: 3-3-02 by Barry and adopted in April 2008 by Automan01440.

Time and Length: Under an hour round trip, less than a mile
Difficulty: Easy walking

Directions to area: From Rt. 2 take the Rt. 140 exit. Follow 140 south towards Princeton. Approx. 3.2 miles on the right you will see a small sign for the Trustees of Reservation for Redemption Rock. Pull in off the road into a small dirt parking area.

From the Worcester area, follow Interstate 190 to exit 5 Rt 140 Northbound towards Princeton. Stay on 140 for roughly 7 -8 miles. The sign is on your left.

Please be carefull. I noticed that there is some logging being done in the area

Clues: From the parking area follow the Mid-State trail South. At the first fork bear off the Mid-State to the right trail. At the next forktake a left over the stream. Check out the cave on your right. Follow the trail up the hill. Bear right at the next intersection. Notice the stone wall on your right.Follow the trail keeping the stonewall to your right. Where the wall Breaks, leave the trail and walk to the edge of the opening in the stone wall On the far side of the twin oaks Trunks in a crevasse in the wall you will find the letterbox covered by some wood wedges from the tree that stood here. you should only have to move one stone to get the box.

Enjoy the views and be sure to read the historical markers about Redemption Rock. It's an easy climb up the far side of the rock. This is my first adopted letterbox. Hope you enjoy it. Automan01440
