TSS Nut - Pecan LbNA # 34000
|Placed Date||Aug 10 2007|
|Location||Pecan Gap, TX|
What more can I say? A tribute to the pecan in Pecan Gap in a cemetery with several pecan trees. Well maybe I could say, do you have any pecan pie?
To the cemetery: Find your way to Pecan Gap in Delta County. Once you are in Pecan Gap, take 64 East till it meets 128 East and then turn onto 128 East. Take 128 E for about 2 1/2 miles and look for Giles Cemetery which will be on your left. You will have to drive on grass from 128 to the gate. Park outside the gate.
To the box
Go through the gate and proceed to the first pecan tree on your right. Notice the names on the headstones right beside it. From there walk to the right side of the cemetery (right side if you are facing the away from
where your car is parked). You should pass the Morgan family plot, which also has some Ross headstones in it. You will then pass a headstone for Page. From this headstone look into the woods near the headstone for a double trunk cedar tree. The pecan has fallen under this cedar tree on the side closest to the cemetery.
