Notes: These are State Gamelands and should be avoided during hunting season, especially if you have antlers. Wear orange blaze if you go.

There is high grass so be sure to check for ticks and other unwanted hitchhikers.

The Warner Trails are a group of small but pretty trails through woods and grassland. Today we will go to the site of an old mill and some lovely waterfalls, but the trails also offer a cable bridge and additional hiking.

Finding Warner Trails:

Find the intersection of Routes 940 and 423, in Pocono Pines, PA. Follow 423 north 4.1 miles and look for a pull-off on the left hand side. This is the head of the trail. Park your car and get ready to hike.

You will follow the trail gradually downhill and WNW for less than half a mile. At the fist three way intersection, take a right and head NNE.

The trail will fork, although the right fork is disused and hard to see. You will bend left and follow the "main" trail. Shortly thereafter take the right fork (again, the more traveled of the trails). You will shortly find yourself on top of an old railway embankment.

Follow the embankment to its end above the water. Scramble down the path on the left to the falls.

Go as far down the falls as you can, without climbing. Turn around and sight back to a platform you'll find at 140 degrees, ten true paces away.

From the platform sight 160 degrees up a small flight of "hundreds of steps". Take ten more true paces and you'll find a natural letterbox on your left.

I would like to thank BEast for helping me hide this letterbox.

I would also like to thank my father for carving the stamp.
