Time: 3 hours
Distance: 4.5 miles round trip
Difficulty: Moderate

Directions: Make your way to Blueberry Mountain in the town of Benton. These directions will be based on climbing from the trailhead on Page Road off Lime Kiln road in the town of Pike. You will find the entrance to the trail at the end of Page road.

Begin your climb following the yellow blazes. Within the first 10 minutes you will approach a couple of forks, bearing right at each one. Just keep in mind the yellow blazes as there are really no trail signs. The trail is pretty level during the first part of the hike. After about a half and hour you will start a pretty steady uphill climb. As you approach the top of the mountain the trail becomes mostly ledge surrounded by a ton of blueberry bushes. At the top you will notice the trail takes a left (marked by a yellow blaze on the ledge) and then dips sharply and rises again to a cairn. Once you reach this cairn you will look to your right and see four small fir trees. At the base of the fourth and under a rock you will find the "Black Dog".

This is a great hike for dogs as it is a seldom used trail. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy your stay at the top. If you are inclinced to bring two cars you can park one in Glencliff and make the trek across to the other trail approaching Blueberry Mountain from the east.
