St. Mary’s River State Park
Camp Cosoma Road, Leonardtown, MD
The quest begins in St. Mary’s River Watershed Park which is one of the two areas of St. Mary’s River State Park. The entrance is located along Maryland Route 5, between Leonardtown and Great Mills, at the end of Camp Cosoma Road.
Enter Park and head toward rest room area. Facing the Lake, enter the left trail entrance onto St. Mary’s Lake Loop Trail (7.5 miles White Blazes). Continue on the White Trail and pass over two foot bridges (0.5 marker). Just over the second foot bridge, stop and look to your left. Find a cluster of seven small holly trees in a circular form. At the base of the circular cluster, covered in pine needles and pine cones, you can unveil the treasure.
