Directions:
Lil’ Joe Freckles is located at Lock 4 Canal Park in the Town of Schaghticoke, NY. Take Routes 4 and 32 into Stillwater and turn at the blinking light onto Route 125 (Stillwater Bridge Rd.). Go .2 mile and turn right into the Lock 4 entrance. Travel down and at the “Y” veer left following it to the parking lot.
** You will need your own ink pad and a pen.
*** PARK GATE CLOSES AT 4:30.
Clues:
Face the water and walk to the front left corner to a blue and yellow sign stating “Park Gate is locked at 8:30” on a tree marking a nature trail’s entrance. Take this trail all the way to the “tip” and enjoy the view. Continue on the trail up a small hill and continue with the river on your right. Shortly, you will come to a trail on your left. Go 16 paces on this trail. Turn right and go 10 paces into the woods to a triple trunk tree behind a mound of mossy dirt. Look inside for Lil’ Joe Freckles! Go back out to the original trail and continue to your car.
**Please make sure you can’t see Lil’ Joe Freckles from all sides when re-hiding. He becomes scared very easily!
