This letterbox was originally placed by Viejo, but he is unable to maintain so I have taken it over.

This letterbox is located near the trailhead that descends 4 miles into Fossil Creek canyon and provides some nice views of the typography of the area without actually going down into the canyon. It is part of a hybrid geocache so it resides in an metal ammo box.

From downtown Strawberry, take Fossil Creek road west about 4 miles until you come to the trailhead which you will see on a short sideroad to the right. The last two miles are unpaved but suitable for any vehicle.

From the parking area, proceed down the road toward a rocky promontory. After about .14 miles you will come to a "road", actually just two tracks going off to the left. About 50 paces up this track, leave the track and go toward the rocks at a heading of about 300 degrees. As you approach, you will note a large old juniper tree in the neighborhood and on its south side the beginning of a discernible but not prominent game trail marked by a couple of small rock stacks. This trail leads you around the base of the rocks to the north side. On the north face there are two obvious clefts at the base of the rocks, one of which contains your target.

As this is a geocache hybrid, the coordinates can be found on the geocaching website. The way point is GC15HMX. N 34° 24.494 W 111° 34.328
