Now don't get the wrong idea. This is not the TV movie man or anything really like it. It seems that frogs are very cannibalistic and also like to eat small birds, well try to anyway, really they just drown them. At least that's what the frog who used to live in our little pond did...he earned his name for sure. Thankfully he's gone now and R doesn't have to rescue anymore sparrows from his jaws of death. This is placed for him. Not sure why we chose here it just worked.
Start your journey at the new steam-line trail on route 2A in Fitchburg, MA. (not far after our Alvah Crocker box in Waites Corner and on the way to our Old Mill box.)
Park anywhere. Follow the gravel trail along the wood fence and around a corner over a bridge. The gravel trail continues between some old buildings. Stay on this until you pass through them and it rounds a corner. After you are through the buildings you'll see that the trail follows the steam pipes. Watch on the left for a tree that is growing on top of a rock (about ten "posts" on the steam-line after you've rounded the corner.) The box is behind this tree under some rocks. Take some time to enjoy this new trail...not far down is a lookout over the river that's very nice. Happy Hunting!
