Use the directions for the "Our favorite Things - Conewago Trail - Etown 1" (which is new & has been replaced due to disappearance of the first) box. Once at the first box, continue on the trail you came in on farther into the woods. Shortly after leaving the trail at the first box, you will come to a fork in the trail, take the left branch.
After not too long, you will see a neat, hidden lake on your right. Continue along the trail, as you go, the trail will come very close to the lake's edge. As this happens, look closely for a railroad tie into the lake's bank. Once there, Turn 180 degrees & head back the way you came for about 17 paces. You should see a lesser traveled trail to your right.
Take this lesser traveled path for about 10 paces, then on your left, you should see a pile of logs at the base of a large tree, you will find the letterbox hidden under a log, with limbs and bark. As with the first box, access from the opposite side of the log to keep hidden from view from the path.
We tried to hide well as our first box disappeared???
PLEASE try to re-hide well as to avoid detection by hikers, etc.
As with my sister's box, this the theme is my favorite thing about the trail.
Thank you & enjoy!!
I have a link to AQ where there is a picture clue to help with your quest (no pun intended).
