Laumeier Sculpture Park

There are five stamps in this series. Park in the main parking lot and start the trek by following the path into the woods. Please be sure to put the stamps back exactly where you found them. Also, please let me know if there is any damage and I will replace them.

Be sure to bring your own ink. Also, you may want to bring a larger piece of paper as the stamps link together to form a whole picture.

Have fun.

Metamorphosis

As a child I hid beneath the teacher’s desk.
While others sat stone still in rows of five,
I trembled beneath her rusted voice reciting
A, E, I , O and U.

I grew up on two wheels,
blue and shiny. School now
for me was cubed and squared.
Math in shapes and patterns
Like the wind across my face
As I lived above the wheel.

Strong as a steel girder was
My old friend who taught me responsibility
Between the lazy daze of the horizon
and the vertical climb of my middle years,
I lived with my beloved dog.

Now old, joy for me is the smell of grounds
and sound of steaming water.
I fill a cup and live within my coffee mornings.
I close my eyes and remember the rusted voice,
the wind in patterns and my old friend.
What does the future hold?
The answer is hidden in the aroma.
