The Texas RR letterbox is located at the Rusk Depot of the Texas State Railroad State Park, which is known as one of the nation's largest and most unique steam train operations. Passengers may board the historic trains at either Rusk or Palestine and both ends of the line have turn-of-the-century style train stations and the Rusk/Palestine State Parks. The 50-mile, round-trip steam engine excursions take 4 hours and run from March to November.

Directions:
Rusk is located about 170 miles north of Houston. The Texas State Railroad Rusk Depot is 3 miles west of Rusk off US Highway 84.

Clues:
From the parking area walk west about 50 yards to the Picnic Shelter and veer left onto a trail that skirts the left (south) side of the lake. Walk about 150 yards to a small peninsula on the right (north) and go to the first tree on it. Stand with your back against it facing south and walk 18 paces to twin pine trees with a view of the RR tracks between them. Look at the base of the left (east) tree on the north side under some rocks and pine needles for the box. Please re-cover as found.
