**BOX MISSING** :( LOOKS LIKE IT WAS TAKEN~~WE WILL WORK ON REPLACING IT

LAST VISITED ON AUGUST 15, 2009
BOOK TWO ADDED

Travel north past Two Harbors on Highway 61 to mile marker 42. Park in the lot above the boat landing. Take the trail into cool dark woods.

No matter when we have visited this park, the temperature is always cooler than from where we have come thanks to the great lake.

Where the trail forks, go right. Walk until you can read about Iona. Take the time, it's worth it. Then go left toward her beach. Just before the beach (I know you'll be tempted to check out its unique rocks, but you can do that after you find the box) go right at the fork, then right up a dirt path. At the last fork you come to, go right again.

In a few short steps you will be out on a large basalt outcropping of rocks with the lake below. I never get tired of that view. Keep small children close by, but older ones will want to explore.

Just to your right is a cluster of paper birch trees. Tucked under and safely hidden behind rocks is the box.

Please hide well when you are done. This is a well visited area. Enjoy! My kids and I can't wait to see who stamps in.
