Reynards Letter Box is
the second box to hunt for in Faxon Park .
There are Three Hidden in Faxon Park which is
off Faxon Road in Quincy MA 02169 . Play ground for children. (Were first box is.)Dog owners pick up after them.
To find enter through the main gate. Whole park is an one way drive.Faxon Park was a gift from a father and son
Henry H. and Henry M. Faxon who donated " A Tract of 57 Acres for the free use for all time for the Citizens of Quincy 1885 and 1945"From the gates go past the play ground.
Up to the top of the hill. They were TEA TOTALERS so no alcoholic drinking in the park.
Park at the Pavillon.
At back of parking lot go up path past Double Oak.
Notice a Man's profile in burrl of tree as you pass.
Go up to the top of large hill. The Forest is recovering from last years Fires. As you round the curve on your right you will see a 100 year black oak some fool took a couple of chops out of with an ax.
At this tree 16 paces forward. Then you will go right, off the path. And walk stright to the rim of the old Quarry .
Walk slowly counter clockwise around this rim . The Box is hidden on the first real path you will reach, leading down.
(Just befour a scrub oak with 5 trunks )You'll see an grass path leading toward the quarry bottom. Which may contain water. Taks only 4 or 5 careful steps down this path.On the Right is a rock with an Ocean wave cut in the bottom.Look for Reynard in the cleft under
this rock.He is hiden in there by some sticks.
Remember He loves to hide but is between the rocks.
Last hint :"the quintet tree is about five feet on top of me."
If you haven't found him by now.
Don't claim "sour grapes"
Good Hunting
