Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm celebrates autumn every year with their Family Harvest Festival---this year it's Saturday, Sept. 29. Come for the day to climb on their old tractors. Meet the farm animals. Bump through the fields on a horse-drawn hay wagon. Build a scarecrow. Find a pumpkin. Weave your way through a hay bale maze. Tour the 17th century manor house. Can't come that day? The grounds are free to visitors, picnickers, photographers, dog-walkers, artists, and running children every day of the year, dawn to dusk. The amazing house is open for tours (admission charged) Thursday through Sunday from June 1 till October 15---well worth it.

The ca. 1690 house is an architectural marvel, but you should also take the time to admire the 1775 great barn. It is still a working barn---walk around it with care! With your back to the lane, find the smaller sliding doors with their heavy iron hardware. If you look closely, you can begin to see how, sometime in the 19th century, the barn's stone foundation was shored up so a lower level could be dug out to keep a large dairy herd.
This letterbox was placed with permission of the site manager; however, if you cannot find the box, please do not ask farm staff. Please *do not* enter the barn.
