This is a nice family hike along the Nooksack River through deep forest. Park at the trailhead on Mt. Baker Hwy. (MP 35.4) across from the Douglas Fir Campground. The trail begins at the bridge and meanders upriver along noisy whitewater crashing over boulders and bedrock. Stroll along the trail for a while. After you cross the last section of a wooden footbridge, the trail turns to the right toward the river again. Just beyond the bend, there is a lard craggy stump on your left. Thirty two paces (2 steps = 1 pace) there is a hollowed out stump on your right. The letterbox is hiding bhind bark and leaves in a hollow in the bottom of the stump on the river side. Have fun and please rehide carefully.
Sincerely,
The Dusty Autumn Leaves
