Sunset Beach is located in Southeastern North Carolina.
The island is about 7 miles off of U.S. 17 at Highway 904.
Take 904 to the second traffic light (roughly 4 miles from intersection with U.S. 17).
Turn right and follow the signs to Sunset beach.
The bridge onto the island is approximately three more miles.
The bridge onto the island opens on the hour for waiting boat traffic during the day and on-demand for commercial vessels.
After crossing the bridge onto Sunset Island, head toward the beach.
At the end of the road you will find 2 beach parking lots (we think the one on the left is free ... if you can find a spot; its kind of busy at peak beach times).
Head toward the pier - don't worry - you won't have to pay to get in (unless you want to go further!).
Take the staircase on the right.
Go halfway down the steps to the landing.
Turn around and look under the bottom step of the landing to the far left.
You should find "Sunrise on Sunset".

If you went the gazebo route toward the beach, turn right at the end of the walkway
You can approach the letterbox & stairs from the beach, too.
From underneath the pier, the box will be on the far right of the bottom step of the landing.

Now go hang out on the beach and have fun! Sunset Beach is always beautiful - sunrise, sunset, anytime of day!

PLEASE....be discreet. This can be a busy spot! Thanks!

Happy Hunting!

Peace, Shiawase
