Difficulty: Very easy and scenic. About a twenty minute hike to the box on mostly level ground.

Directions: Driving north on Route 16 in North Conway Village, turn left at the light onto River Road. Follow River Road (passing over 2 bridges) for 6/10 mile and then go left onto West Side Road. Go 3/10 mile and take a right onto Echo Lake Road. Follow the signs to Echo Lake State Park and park in the lot - further in is closest to the lake. (During summer months, there is a fee and you may wish to park outside the park and walk in.)

Once at the lake, take the path to the right which goes all the way around the lake. Enjoy the beautiful views of the lake and White Horse Ledge and Cathedral Ledge. Continue along the path closest to the lake. Take your time and check out the many openings that lead from the path down to the lake.

Half way around the lake you will come to a trail marked "Bryce Path" which leads off to the right. Take this trail and follow it for about 200 paces. You will then see what appears to be a small teepee made out of sticks on your right. At the back left corner is a tall pine tree. At the base of the pine (outside the "teepee") is your prize. You can stamp up there or return to the lake and sit at the edge to do so. Then please return the letterbox just as you found it...well hidden.
