This is on the property of Sheep Pasture in Easton an educational and conservation farm open to the public. It is a former estate of the Ames family.
Located at the intersection of Rt 138 and Main St it is a great place to bring the kids for a couple of hours to explore.
The entrance is through the stone wall entrance about 300 yards from Rt138 on Main St.

WHALE of a TAIL; start infront of the NRT (natural resources trust) main office building, there is a sign "education class entrance" by the right side door.
With this sign to your back look to the left for a sign on a tree "Ames Parker Loop" trail.
Facing this sign take the road to the left, look for a wide trail on the right "whale rock trail" go down this trail.
The first trail on the left goes to an indian wigwam teaching site, check it out if you like.
Back on the main trail keep going staight, at the fork 20 feet past wigwam stay right, at the next fork stay left, after about 50 yards you will see Whale Rock.
You will see it looks like a Sperm Whale coming out of the ground.
Go up the trail to the left of the rock up to the top.
Standing on the rock with your back to the edge take 15 steps back to the trail and go to the right.
About 40 feet straight ahead is a large rock, about 20 feet further down the trail on the left 8 feet off the trail is a rock with a split down the middle, go to the back of the rock the box is in the crack.

One Potato Two Potato; from the box hiding place continue down the trail you are on back to the main trail go straight.
Continue past the wooden teepee frame, go 100 feet to where the next trail meets, 30 feet on the left is the foundation for the old corn crib. Go straight to the main road about 200 feet.
Facing the meadow there should be 4 hickory trees in front of you. Take a left, at the rail fence take a right in the road go 200 feet.
The cave on the right is the old root or POTATO CELLAR that vegtables were stored in prior to refridgeration.
This was built by our great great grandfather for the Ames family.
Facing the cave take the trail to the left up to the top follow the path out to the meadow.
Go left and follow the edge of the field looking in the bushes you will see a big rock in the bushes half way to the bottom of the hill. The box is behind and under the rock.
Hope you have fun.
