Shipyard Farm is a set of two fields on Sconticut Neck Road in Fairhaven. It is across the road from Winona and Winsegansett.

Enter near the sign...walk in, of course! You never know what the field will be like since it is still mowed and hayed. If you are squeamish about tall grass, wear boots. When I placed the box it was a beautiful September day and there were tons of sulphur butterflies all over. I saw some flycatchers and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

Walk straight across the field and you will come to an entrance to another field. Follow the edge to the left as it curves around. You will see an opening in the stone wall with a sign for the Fairhaven Acushnet Land Preservation Trust.

Enter where the sign is and when you go a few steps, look back to your right at the stone wall. The letterbox is on one side or the other near the stone wall after you walk in. I guess something happened to the original tree in my clue text.

After you open and do your thing, make sure the baggie with the stamp and the one with the log are nice and tightly sealed.

In summer there are often egrets in the trees roosting. There is a strong possibility that they have started nesting in the area which is very exciting, so please don't walk on the marsh or startle them.

There are now paths in the woods if you cross over the plank bridge near the area of the letterbox.
