To all the boys I’ve loved before:
Max (Maxxx, Maximus, Peanut, Maggs-gy-maggsg…)
Boxer/Staffie/? Mix
1994? –July 1, 2007

Max was an amazing dog. That’s not what the first 2 owners said though! He is too excitable…he dug up my shrubs…the list goes on. For the 12 years we had him, he was the most well behaved, loving, house trained dog I had ever known. (Except for the uncanny ability to recognize the sound of the UPS truck, even if it didn’t stop at our house and totally freak out.) We have had a couple family dogs but he was the first dog in my life that was truly mine. That was the first time I experienced unconditional love…and it was awesome! He battled cancer on the bridge of his nose for 2 ½ years (the vets said he might last 2 months). We treated him with Cell Forte and I truly think that eventually cured him. His passing was simply from old age. Nearly blind and deaf not to mention many other problems that come with age…

Directions to the letterbox: At Andover Square, take Route 85 East and turn left on to Cleveland Avenue (just after Dairy Queen). When Cleveland Avenue intersects Orchard Street, the cemetery entrance is to the right. Take the road to Maple Grove Cemetery. When you come to the first road on the left, take it all the way back and almost all the way around the curve. Just before you complete the curve, you should see a large "Hatton" stone in front of you. Approximately 8 steps to the left of that stone is a cement property marker. From that marker, take about 16 steps straight ahead to where 2 felled tree cross. The Max letterbox is hidden where the trees intersect.
