To all the boys I’ve loved before:
Rayden Max (Max’s ‘cousin’)
1999 – 2007
Boxer
Rayden wasn’t officially mine, but I did feel a strong emotional attachment to him. He was picked by close friends, based on the love they had for my dog, Max. They wanted to clone him, but since they couldn’t they got the next best thing. Rayden was VERY emotionally attached to his owners and likewise. His ‘daddy’ would get on the floor and play tug-of-war, with the toy in his teeth, just like the puppy. He was a beautiful, much loved dog and I was honored to know that they wanted their ‘first boy’ to be buried right next to Max when the untimely death of Rayden had occurred.
Directions to the letterbox:
From Andover Square, take Route 85 East to Cleveland Avenue (just after Dairy Queen). Take the left on Cleveland Avenue (past Rayden’s grandma’s house) and when Cleveland Avenue intersects Orchard Street, take the right into Maple Grove Cemetery. Once to get into the cemetery, go around the mausoleum? and go to the furthest section. Take the first left (just before the Halstead stone) and go about 2/3 of the way down. Stop at a reddish-brown stone with the name "Charles G. Pitcher". To your left, at the edge of the woods, is a bench that says "come sit and rest". Go to the bench and straight down the hill to the last tree closest to the creek. The Rayden box is hidden under leaves and branches.
Please provide your own stamp pad and pen.
