The Larkin Bridal Trail runs from Waterbury, CT to Newtown, CT and is 10.77 miles long. Originally it was part of a rail line that connected Waterbury, CT and Brewster, NY. It was abandoned in 1943 and bought by Dr. Charles Larkin and donated to the state of CT

Trail is a multi use trail for biking, hiking, horseback riding (watch for droppings) and cross country skiing.

Trail can be muddy at times and insect repellent may be needed when bugs are present.

The Cardinal has flown here from Nike Park - Warrington, PA its previous location.

Your search begins where Riggs Road and Towantic Hill Road meet in Oxford. Park on either side of Riggs Road but take the trail headed south west. Walk is 10 to 12 minutes each way and trail is child and stroller friendly.

Follow trail past water on both sides with the beaver house on the left.. Continue on and pass rocks left and right. Pass a couple paths uphill on left scurry up if you must but its not where The Cardinal nests. Stop at a post on the right just before rock cliffs on both sides. Directly behind the post between the tree and rocks The cardinal rests.

There is no pen in the box. Please reseal all baggies and the box carefully before replacing. Please contact us if repairs are needed. rtfmef@yahoo.com
