From I-65, merge onto the William H Natcher Parkway. Take exit 5 towards Russellville/Bowling Green and turn left onto Russellville Rd. Drive about 16 miles and turn right on Rt 722 at the Briggs Lake sign. Travel about 4.2 miles. Make sure you stay on the main road. It will come to a T. At the stop sign, follow the signs and turn left. You will see a sign about 1.6 mi on the right. Turn right onto the gravel road. This is Briggs Lake Road and will dead end at the lake.
Briggs Lake is a quiet, secluded 18 acre lake in Logan County and is my son's favorite place to fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, red ear sunfish, channel catfish, and black crappie.
Park in the small parking space to the left of the boat ramp. You will see a small natural trail behind you that goes up a moderately steep hill into the woods. Follow the trail to the top of the hill. The trail will T. Turn left and follow the trail counting about 33 paces. Look to your right for a tree that has a hole in it's base. That is where you will find Ty's Hook, Line, and Sinker.
Be forewarned that this is a natural setting that is not manicured. The trail is natural and is not marked. Leaves/snow may hide it. You may have difficulty climbing the hill after rain.
You will be traveling country roads, make sure you reverse the directions before leaving or you will get lost. The way in is well marked, but the way out is not. On the way out, you will need to look for Duncans Chapel Rd. This is the T that you came to on the way in. This is where you turn right to get out. It is about 1.6 mi from Briggs Lake Rd.
