As RTRW would say - Things you don't need to know: My granddaughter Samantha loves anything Princess related. While reading her one of her many Princess storybooks, it occured to me that a Princess can be many things, not just a wealthy, beautiful young girl who lives in a lavish castle. A Princess is loving and sweet, and caring and true. She is humble and kind, and funny and wise. With this in mind, don't we all know a Princess or two?

In Island Woods, park at the very end of Lake Ridge Road.

Princess Vinzella was born to the royal and vain King and Queen of Southwood in the spring of the year. Disappointed that their firstborn was not as exceptionally beautiful as they had planned she would be, they wrapped her in a pink satin blanket and abandoned her at the edge of Southwood Forest. Vinzella was adopted by the animals of the forest, and they loved, cared for and nurtured her. The chipmunks and rabbits wove cloth and made her clothes, the deer taught her to find food, the birds taught her to talk and sing, and the racoons and ladybugs taught her to laugh. And so Vinzella lived all the days of her very long life in the wondrous forest she called home among her family of wildlife, singing and dancing, learning and loving, and experiencing all the beauty of nature. She was so fortunate that she never had the opportunity to learn the evil ways of her parents whose focus in life was wealth and beauty. Vinzella was more wealthy and beautiful in so many ways. Her heart was full, and she was loved.

Take the white blazed trail on the left. Pass a stone wall on the right; and then another. When given a choice, go right. After the trail bears right, look for a large rock embedded in the center of the trail with a thin white blazed tree just to its right. From this spot, continue 20 steps on the trail to a smaller rock sticking up from the center of the trail. Look directly right to a 3-sister about 10 steps off trail. Princess Vinzella awaits you there. Please ensure her safety and rehide well!

Princess Alexine devoted her life to helping others and teaching children, many of which were disabled or less fortunate. Her empathy and caring showed in every little thing that she did, and her beauty radiated outward from within so much so, that it seemed she was surrounded by a warm pink glow. Her voice was soft yet strong, and her words were thoughtful and wise. She spent many days in seclusion, looking for ways to be a better person. But for those that had the pleasure to know Princess Alexine, they knew this was impossible. She was made up of every good thing. She lived a very long and productive life, teaching multitudes of children and enriching the lives of so many. Her Mercy lives forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Continue on the trail looking for the "elbow" tree on the right. From the elbow, go back (that's right, back) a dozen steps and now look left for a large rock with a small tree at it's back. Tucked under its roots under plenty of sticks you will find Princess Alexine. Please ensure her safety and rehide well! Go back to the elbow and continue a short way to your car. I hope you had fun looking for these two "Princesses" that I have loved.
